Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile or SCRUM experience required. Must have had past leadership experience or readiness for leadership.  Also must have Kubernetes experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a candidate to fulfill a PaaS Product Owner for TCS. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

What you bring to the table:

  • Responsible for providing leadership and Platform as a Service (PaaS) product ownership for a submarine combat system infrastruicture team  
  • Ability to create innovative product solutions that meet customer requirements while meeting company financial and business objectives
  • Capable of collaborating in a multidisciplinary team including hardware, software, and cyber-security experts
  • Possess skills to communicate software solutions and designs to medium and large teams of software engineers
  • The ability to support the program with the following:
    • Manage infrastructure ecosystem PaaS, Failover, SWFTS integration etc.
    • Evolving system design w/ NFRs
    • Resolve complex issues and conduct research spikes
    • PaaS product vision and agile team management
    • Supporting DevOps & CI/CD
    • Provide hands-on technical guidance to the team

  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Past leadership
  • Experience with SCRUM or Agile
  • Excellent communication skills; effective presenter with both internal and external audiences
  • Very strong knowledge of technology trends and the ability to champion new ideas, products and process improvements
  • Ability to effectively handle complex assignments and work through challenging problems with external and internal stakeholders
  • Creative thinking with the ability to effectively multi-task
  • Experience with development for Real Time Operating Systems

Workplace Options:

Target salary range: USD $121,192.00/Yr. - USD $134,447.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
