TACLANE Trusted Sensor Software

Adding Continuous Monitoring and Cyber Sensing Capability to your TACLANE® Encryptor

As cyber attacks become more sophisticated and frequent, additional security services are required to detect and defend networks and information. Until now, organizations have relied on Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS) in addition to security equipment like in-line network encryptors to sense and alert network administrators of a cyber attack. The TACLANE Trusted Sensor Software is a first-of-its kind, National Security Agency (NSA) approved, option that adds IDS/IPS capabilities to the TACLANE-1G (KG-175G), TACLANE-10G (KG-175X) and TACLANE-FLEX(KG-175F) network encryptors. These additional cyber sensor features aid network administrators in establishing network situational awareness and provides greater Defense-in-Depth in a cost effective manner.

TACLANE Trusted Sensor Capabilities

TACLANE Trusted Sensor Software adds IDS/IPS capabilities to the TACLANE encryptor via Deep Packet Inspection (DPI). All IP packets - including header and content are inspected for malicious data.TACLANE Trusted Sensor Software can be configured to alert, log, and or drop packets upon signature match, providing flexibility to cybersecurity operations. In addition to inspection, the TACLANE Trusted Sensor Software provides Netflow and traffic pattern statistics instrumental for network traffic analysis. This automation assists network administrators in monitoring the overall health of the system and enables them to fine tune their filtering thus reducing reaction time.

A key benefit of adding sensing capabilities to the TACLANE is that rule sets - both open source (e.g. Snort) and user defined can be utilized on any network.

Multiple CONOPS

TACLANE encryptors enabled with TACLANE Trusted Sensor Software can be used as a HAIPE® encryptor with cyber sensing or in a "sensor only" IDS or IPS mode. In the sensor only mode, the TACLANE provides insider focused security as the HAIPE is transparent to the network and cannot be detected by malicious users.

Availability

TACLANE Trusted Sensor Software can be purchased separately as a licensed software feature for existing TACLANE-1G, 10G and FLEX encryptors, or purchased as a bundle with the new TACLANE-1G, 10G and FLEX encryptors.
