Autonomous Airborne Systems
General Dynamics Mission Systems designs high-performance airborne mission systems for autonomous aircraft. Our smart airborne computing systems support the rapid insertion of new technology and capabilities while protecting critical data with a secure and multi-level computing infrastructure.
Autonomous Collaborative Platforms
The U.S. Air Force plans to field thousands of more affordable, AI-enabled, autonomous, and uncrewed aircraft that will operate alongside pilots flying in the next generation of combat aircraft.
Air Force pilots will command these Autonomous Collaborative Platforms as “loyal wingman” which can follow orders and take part in complex missions without the need for individualized instructions.
These autonomous aircraft are designed to become a distributed “family of systems” capable of performing a diverse set of missions including electronic warfare, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance, and close-order combat.
Our Technology
General Dynamics Mission Systems is providing airborne mission systems to almost all of the major autonomous aircraft prime contractors, the U.S. Air Force, and the U.S. Navy. We specialize in secure computing systems that aid in the sensing, processing, and disseminating of data to quickly act on real-time situational awareness and intelligence.
