Bill Weiss is the vice president and general manager of Ground Systems for General Dynamics Mission Systems. He leads a team of engineering and technology professionals who are responsible for delivering large scale, high-reliability resilient networks, command and control systems, and training and simulation capabilities for military, government and civilian customers worldwide.
Programs and business efforts under Weiss’ direction include the U.S. Army’s Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T) and Common Hardware Systems (CHS-4) programs, the U.S. Marine Corps Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S), a portfolio of mission command systems including the U.S. Army’s Command Post of the Future (CPoF), Tactical Ground Reporting System and Tactical Airspace Integration System, and mission critical networks for public safety and federal law enforcement.
Weiss has been assigned several engineering and business leadership positions over a 33-year career at General Dynamics. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering and a Master of Science in Computer Systems Engineering from Boston University. Weiss serves on the Leadership Advisory Board of the Boston University College of Engineering, and on the Franklin Performing Arts Company Board of Directors.
