Every year, Fortune Magazine announces their Blue Ribbon Companies, a list of companies who have been recognized on four or more Fortune lists such as the Fortune 100 or the World’s Most Admired Companies list. Fortune's editors wrote, “Our annual list of the Blue Ribbon Companies is a ranking of the best of the best — organizations that are firing on all cylinders.” This year's ranking sets a new record as 25 companies were honored with a Fortune Blue Ribbon.

General Dynamics joined the “best of the best," which included giants like Google, Nike and Facebook, ranking 13th overall on the Blue Ribbon List for 2015. In total, GD was recognized on four Fortune lists this year:

• No. 6 in Aerospace and Defense on the Worlds Most Admired Companies list
• No. 42 on Fortunes Businessperson of the Year
• No. 100 on the Fortune 500
• No. 386 on the Global 500
