Satellite Ground Systems
Connecting Satellites and Spacecraft to Earth
General Dynamics has been a leading provider of satellite ground system solutions for more than 30 years. We build and upgrade ground-based communications and mission management systems that are responsible for receiving and routing communications and flight instructions from Earth to satellites and spacecraft.
Featured Programs
General Dynamics has extensive experience in designing, integrating, testing and maintaining complex satellite ground system infrastructures for NASA, the U.S. Space Force, and the Space Development Agency.
Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture
We are developing the integrated ground systems for the Space Development Agency’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) Tranches 1 and 2. The Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture will provide integrated tranches of Low Earth Orbit satellites to support warfighter connectivity, missile tracking and other capabilities.
Mobile User Objective System
We provide the integrated ground segments for the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS). MUOS is a next-generation satellite communications system providing voice and data communications for U.S. forces anytime, anywhere.

Introducing our new guarDSMan high-rate modem for DVB-S2 satellite communications, a hardware-independent digital software modem that connects satellites to ground systems.
guarDSMan Digital Software Modem
guarDSMan™ is General Dynamics' latest generation, software-defined modem, supporting full-duplex space-ground communications at data rates up to 2 Gbps.
Our flexible software implementation is field-upgradeable to extend a wide range of waveforms (in addition to DVB-S2, including modulation and coding) and can be hosted on on-premise COTS x86 server technology, or in a remote cloud hosting environment.
