FAIRFAX, Va. – General Dynamics Mission Systems announced today that Dr. Laura Hooks has been named as the new vice president and general manager of the company’s Ground Systems line of business.
The Ground Systems line of business delivers radio and GPS products, integrates large-scale, resilient, mission critical networks, command and control systems, and training and simulation capabilities for military customers worldwide.
“Laura is a brilliant and proven executive, able to deeply understand complex business and technical issues, and to create an environment of innovation and business growth,” said Chris Brady, president of General Dynamics Mission Systems.
Previously, Hooks served as the vice president of the Strategic Systems business area within the Maritime and Strategic Systems line of business.
Hooks succeeds William (Bill) Patterson, who will retire in June after more than 19 years of service with General Dynamics. Patterson will remain with the company until his retirement to ensure a seamless transition with Hooks.
“Congratulations to Bill Patterson for an amazing career with General Dynamics Mission Systems. During his time with us, he deeply strengthened our relationship with the Army customer and developed new strategies to better align with the Army’s research, development, and procurement programs,” Brady said.
