General Dynamics Mission Systems at Surface Navy Association National Symposium

FAIRFAX, Va. – General Dynamics Missions Systems will join two other General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) business units, Bath Iron Works and NASSCO, as exhibitors at the Surface Navy Association’s 38th National Symposium, scheduled for Jan. 13-15 at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City in Arlington, Virginia.

Following is a list of General Dynamics Mission Systems products and solutions that will be displayed at the event.

Bluefin-21: The Bluefin®-21 is a modular autonomous Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) able to carry multiple sensors and payloads at once. The Bluefin-21 carries a high energy capacity that enables extended operations in extreme conditions and at the greatest depths. The Bluefin-21 is designed for ease of operations, and can be deployed from various ships of opportunity worldwide. The Bluefin-21 is ideal for a variety of applications, including search and salvage, archaeology and exploration, oceanography, mine countermeasures (MCM), unexploded ordnance (UXO), and carrying other payloads of need.

MEDUSA: Mining Expendable Delivery Unmanned Submarine Asset (MEDUSA) is a tactical, clandestine mining system using an expendable unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) that can be launched from a submarine torpedo tube. The U.S. Navy is developing MEDUSA to address the need for an advanced maritime mining system with long-range offensive mining capabilities. General Dynamics Mission Systems was awarded a contract to design, test, and deliver the MEDUSA system. Rapid prototyping has successfully informed key elements of the design, ensuring that the system will perform to the U.S. Navy's operational requirements.

STRMS: STRMS is a comprehensive tracking and readiness system that supports unit readiness, individual watchstander qualification/experience/proficiency, tactical warfare competency tracking in support of the Surface Warfighting Combat Training Continuum, career progression and milestone accomplishment. STRMS provides a single integrated system that supports the aggregation of multiple databases and facilitates the capability to manage Personnel Qualification Standards (PQS), Training, Watch Team Replacement Plans, Watchbills Schedules/Fatigue Risk Management, Performance Assessment, and Watchstation Proficiency.

MainTAIN: MainTAIN™ is a commercial enterprise asset management system that meets Navy maintenance requirements, designed with inputs from Government Programs of Record (PORs) for configuration management. As a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) product, MainTAIN is configurable to be used in various maintenance environments. It is scalable to accommodate all ship platforms and provide asset management and planning services to the Navy. MainTAIN aligns with the Navy’s Model Based Product Support (MBPS) plan.

Dynamic Edge Kit: The Dynamic Edge Kit enhances multilevel security for accelerated decision-making capabilities. It seamlessly integrates high Technical Readiness Level (TRL) advanced hardware from the Multifunction Processor (MP) family of products, as well as the Tactical Cross Domain Solution (TACDS) and sophisticated software applications Dynamic ASSIST and Dynamic Vision. This integration ensures robust Multilevel Security (MLS) processing and real-time data fusion from various sources, providing operators with a comprehensive, and actionable set of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) data.

Counter Unmanned Vehicle (CUxV) Technology: Our CUxV technology provides improved line-of-sight for 360-degree coverage, enhanced situational awareness including look-down angles, modular design with rapid integration capability, and multiple payloads. It is designed to counter unmanned land, surface, and class 2 & 3 aircraft systems and allows the operator to observe and identify targets at long range.

Containerized Tethered Elevated Mast (C-TEM): The Containerized Tethered Elevated Mast (C-TEM) is a shipboard tethered unmanned aerial system that extends line-of-sight communication for surface ships. With all-weather long endurance mission support, a user-friendly interface, and a low visual signature in-flight, C-TEM use cases are only limited by the warfighter’s imagination. It can be outfitted with numerous capability packages, ranging from radar, electronic warfare (EW), Counter UAS, ISR (Intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance), and more.

GHOST Small Unmanned Surface Vessel: GHOST is a fast, stable, optionally crewed small surface vessel with a large payload capacity and superb sea keeping. The Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull (SWATH) allows operation of larger payloads not normally available on small surface vessels in high sea states. Designed for rapid construction and quick fleet insertion, GHOST provides superior adaptability and protection for mission success.
