General Dynamics Mission Systems Welcomes Air Traffic Control Radio Customers and Celebrates a Significant Milestone
With a warm welcome and quick overview of General Dynamics Mission Systems, Paul Parent, Vice President of radio products kicked off the 2017 ATC Users Summit on June 15th in Scottsdale, AZ. The Air Traffic Control Radio business area hosted approximately 50 customers from the FAA, the U.S. Army, Navy and Air Force. The day's agenda focused on collaboration, discussion and celebration as the ATC Radio team celebrated the delivery of the 10,000th ATC radio to the FAA.
Presentations updated customers about the direction of GDMS ATC radio products and technology with the guests touring the CM-300/350 V2 radio production area and ATC communications lab for a demonstration on Remote Maintenance and Monitoring and simulcast communications. Dawn Bushnell, Product Manager for the ATC radio business said, "The Summit was a fantastic opportunity to hear directly from our customers about their needs and to collaborate with them on solutions. We were so happy to celebrate this significant achievement with our customers and team!"
Sam Gonzalez, Sr Business Development Manager for ATC radios said, "We had a great cross-section of users here, they brought their questions and ideas leading to a lively and very educational discussion about the future of ATC communications."
In May, General Dynamics Mission Systems delivered the 10,000th CM-300/350 VHF-UHF V2 radio, providing advanced, network-ready, ground-to-air communications for the FAA's NEXCOM 2 modernization program. The digital, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) radios provide high-quality communication among air traffic controllers and pilots flying in the National Airspace System (NAS). The first FAA-certified CM-300/350 V2 radios were delivered to the FAA in 2014.
In one day, the ATC Radio business team had an opportunity to continue building strong relationships with a diverse mix of customers, to listen, discuss and to celebrate the continued success in a business area that contributes directly to the Safety of Flight across the National Airspace.
