URC-200 (V2) Line Of Sight Transceiver Carousel 2

URC-200 Line-of-Sight (LOS) Transceivers Provide Reliable Ground-to-Air Communications and Critical "Jerk and Run" Back-up Emergency Communications

For over two decades General Dynamics' family of URC-200 (V2) Line of Sight Transceivers have provided dependable ground-to-air radio communications in the most demanding environments. These multi-band, multi-mode radios offer the flexibility to operate in UHF and VHF spectrum, as well as AM and FM bands in one small, lightweight enclosure. Easy to-use, and remote controllable, URC-200 transceivers are adaptable to many different applications, including manpack, rackmount, vehicular and intercom and can be customized with over 100 different accessories. With a demonstrated reliability greater than 100,000 hours fielded, over 11,000 transceivers have been delivered to all major U.S. military commands and government agencies in over 40 countries.

Back-up Emergency or "Jerk and Run" Communications

In addition to providing reliable ground-to-air communications, the radios can also serve an important function as an emergency back-up system for Air Traffic Control (ATC) communications. The General Dynamics URC-200 (V2) Uninterruptible Emergency Transceiver System combines the reliability of our URC-200 (V2) Transceiver with the UAD-100 Uninterruptible Power Supply for critical back-up emergency communications. The UAD-100 provides uninterruptible AC or DC power to the URC-200 (V2) Transceiver for use during power failures, accidents or other disruptions to the airport or air traffic control center communications. If an emergency forces air traffic controllers to leave the tower or make a fast exit from a site, the URC-200 (V2)/UAD-100 System provides "Jerk and Run" capability so it can be operated as a portable emergency transceiver.

Fortress® Wireless Deployable Broadband Kit Completes Successful Field Trial at Royal Air Force (RAF) Station Leeming

Radios - Fortress Mesh Deployable Broadband KitGeneral Dynamics Mission Systems recently completed a successful field trial of the Fortress Wireless Deployable Broadband Kit at RAF Leeming station in North Yorkshire U.K. The primary purpose of the trial was to validate the performance of the system through the collection of key performance indicators at specific ranges. The location of RAF Leeming which includes airfields, hardened aircraft shelters and operations buildings provided a prime opportunity to test the system in a rural environment at a range of up to 7km and an urban and suburban environment up to 2km. The trial focused on testing the system at mast heights ranging from 3m to 15m and included tests at 3m and 7m to replicate a vehicle mount system. The results of the tests exceeded performance expectations and confirmed the system's ability to extend wireless coverage areas in cluttered rural, urban, and suburban environments.
