GDC4S and Cisco Systems have a long standing partnership in support of Tactical Edge Networks across the defense services. Cisco has partnered with GDC4S in support of Soldier’s Network WIN-T since the inception of the Joint Network Node program.

The core of the network is comprised of Cisco ISR routers running QoS, firewall services, and advanced routing protocols. The routers have evolved to support radio aware routing protocols as WIN-T has moved from Inc1 to Inc2. In order to meet decreasing Size, Weight and Power requirements, Cisco and GDC4S collaborated on a small footprint router solution and created the 5940 platform. Cisco 3560 switches have provided the LAN access network for WIN-T both as standalone platforms and as switch modules within ISR routers. General Dynamics has deftly integrated Cisco’s Call Manager IP Telephony solution with legacy TDM based telephony solutions in the WIN-T network. Use of Call Manager includes Cisco IP phones and gateways for phone calls, conferencing, and Type 1 secure phones.

As Cisco’s largest System Integrator partner, we’re pleased to provide Cisco with this award for their relentless commitment to the Soldier’s Network.
