General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems was awarded a contract by the U.S. Navy’s Office of Naval Research (ONR) to provide system development support for the Integrated Topside (InTop) program. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity multiple-award contract has a maximum value of $800 million among 18 awardees over a five-year period of performance. General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE:GD).

InTop is a new initiative by the Office of Naval Research to develop a system of systems that will integrate radio-frequency capabilities into multi-functional solutions using common apertures and processing equipment on U.S. Navy platforms. It will reduce antenna clutter, mitigate electromagnetic interference and reduce radar cross-section thereby increasing performance while keeping radio capability on surface ships and submarines. General Dynamics will compete with other awardees for task orders to support the InTop mission.

“By leveraging our open architecture expertise on existing U.S. Navy programs, we will deliver the technologies and systems needed to increase the performance of naval communication,” said Lou Von Thaer, president of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems. “We are committed to providing the Navy with the best industry solution and significantly improving the warfighter’s capabilities.”
