MAPS GEN I APNT System
The U.S. Army's First Fielded APNT System
The Mounted Assured PNT System (MAPS) GEN I is an Assured Positioning, Navigation and Timing (APNT) system that has been fielded and monitors GPS signals for validity and sends the validated data to military devices, even when GPS signals are degraded or denied.
About MAPS GEN I
Built by GPS Source, a subsidiary of General Dynamics Mission Systems, MAPS GEN I is a mobile modular system that monitors GPS signals for validity and sends the validated data to military devices.
This system has been in rapid development, production, and fielding since the recognition of the need to protect GPS signals against peer and near-peer adversaries.
It is being fielded throughout the Army’s combat formation to enable warfighters to conduct mobile operations in a GPS-contested environment.
Fielded Worldwide
The Army initially fielded the MAPS GEN I system in the fall of 2019, making it the first APNT solution to be operationally deployed.
The Army deployed 62 systems and several systems engineers to the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in Germany for installation and testing.
Based on successful installation and performance of these systems during field testing by the Army, the Army’s Project Manager Positioning, Navigation, and Timing ordered the first 2,000 units for operational deployment.
These systems have been installed on ground combat vehicles around the world.

The MAPS GEN I System
The core of the MAPS GEN I system, the ED3M PNT Hub, is widely utilized in a variety of ground vehicle applications and is the lead platform for Army and Military Marine Corps GPS User Equipment, (MGUE), making the ED3M your path to M-code.
Enhanced D3 M-Code PNT Distribution Hub (ED3M)
The ED3M Positioning, Navigation and Timing Hub provides M-code protected GPS data. ED3M with VCAM installed retains 100% compatibility with all standard DAGR mount accessories and occupies the same footprint as the DAGR.
VICTORY CSAC Accessory Module (VCAM)
The VCAM integrates various non-GPS sensors including an Inertial Navigation System (INS), Chip Scale Atomic Clock (CSAC) and software designed for electronic surveillance / electronic protection (ES/EP).
FRPA Active Antenna
The FRPA-3EW is a military grade, high performance, wider band GNSS active antenna designed for the demanding high signal levels of the electronic warfare environment. It is small and lightweight, with exceptional protection against the elements.
Anti-Jam Antenna Integration Module (AJAIM)
The AJAIM (Anti-Jam Antenna Integration Module) is a military qualified, two-input four-output Anti-Jam Antenna System (AJAS) and Fixed Radiation Pattern Antenna (FRPA) integration module.
