Ron Moore is the vice president of Information Technology and chief information officer for General Dynamics Mission Systems. In this role, Mr. Moore leads the advancement of the company’s technical capabilities and IT infrastructure to enhance cybersecurity and operational efficiency while optimizing program execution and delivering on the company's critical mission.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Moore served as the General Dynamics Mission Systems deputy chief information officer since 2023 and chief information security officer and director of cybersecurity since 2015.
Since joining General Dynamics Mission Systems in 2015 from Ernst & Young, where he served as the senior manager of information security, Mr. Moore has brought extensive IT and cyber security expertise, spanning both federal and commercial environments. After service in the U.S. Marine Corps as a non-commissioned officer, Mr. Moore began his career as a technical support manager with Magee Enterprises, Inc. He then worked as an experienced manager consultant for Arthur Andersen LLP and in IT audit management for Northrop Grumman before joining Ernst & Young in 2004.
Mr. Moore is a native of Yonkers, New York. He received a Bachelor of Science in computer science engineering from Devry University in 1997. In 2021, he earned a graduate certificate in enterprise information and security technology architecture from Penn State University. Mr. Moore was awarded the Cyber Defense Magazine Top Global CISO Award in 2025 for transformative contributions to global cyber security initiatives in addition to being named a Capital CISO ORBIE Global Finalist. He also has twice been named a WashingtonExec CISO to Watch for his forward-thinking approach to emerging cybersecurity challenges and also was a nominee for a Pinnacle Cybersecurity Executive of the Year.
