Vice President, Program Execution

Ed Cook is the vice president of Program Execution at General Dynamics Mission Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics, where he brings more than 30 years of aerospace and defense industry experience.

In this role, Ed leverages his strategic vision and operational expertise to drive growth and efficiency, focusing on major program bids and execution. He provides high-level oversight, strategic guidance, and executive coaching to ensure program success and foster a culture of excellence.

Previously, Ed served as the vice president and general manager for the Ultra Maritime U.S. line of business and president of Undersea Sensor Systems Inc. and Ultra Ocean Engineering Systems.

At General Dynamics, Ed has held pivotal roles, including vice president of Airborne Systems, where he managed P&L responsibilities for designing, producing, and integrating advanced electronics for military aircraft. Additionally, as director of Surface Ships, he oversaw the integration of complex C5ISR systems onto U.S. Navy warships and established the Surface Ship Support and Sustainment business.

Ed's extensive project management experience includes leading landmark programs such as the Independence Variant Littoral Combat Ship and the DD(X) Destroyer Program. He has also held senior roles in program planning, control, cost engineering, and financial analysis, showcasing his comprehensive understanding of the industry's complexities.
