Christopher J. Hiltbrand is the Vice President of People for General Dynamics Mission Systems. Mr. Hiltbrand oversees all aspects of human resources for more than 12,000 employees across more than 75 world-wide facilities, to include diversity and inclusion initiatives, strategic workforce planning, and talent and leadership development.
Prior to his current role, Mr. Hiltbrand served as the Human Resources Division Leader for General Dynamics Information Technology’s Federal Civilian Division.
Mr. Hiltbrand is a highly accomplished human resources professional with more than 20 years of progressive experience delivering strategic HR and business solutions while serving in a wide variety of roles. He is a decisive leader who has extensive experience partnering with HR and all levels of management to implement systemic, meaningful results throughout lines of business.
Having started his career as a member of the U.S. Navy, Mr. Hiltbrand has held a number of senior level positions across various industries, from nonprofit to defense.
As a current United Service Organizations (USO) of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore board member, and former President of the SAIC Military Alliance Group, Mr. Hiltbrand has a strong passion for veterans and is an active member of Team Red, White & Blue.
Mr. Hiltbrand received a bachelor’s degree in business and management at University of Maryland University College. He also holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business. His professional certifications include: Senior and Global Professional in Human Resources Certifications (SPHR/ GPHR) from Human Resources Certification Institute, SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) from Society for Human Resource Management; Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) from Project Management Institute; Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance, and Foundations of Employee Relations from Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
