Amy Johnson is vice president and general manager of the Space, Cyber & Intelligence Systems line of business for General Dynamics Mission Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics. She leads a portfolio of more than 2,500 employees delivering resilient space, cyber and intelligence capabilities that provide an asymmetric advantage for national security customers and allied partners. Her organization develops and fields critical space ground command and control systems, satellite mission payloads, positioning, navigation and timing solutions, and a comprehensive suite of encryption and cybersecurity technologies that protect the nation's most sensitive missions across all domains.
Under Johnson's leadership, Space, Cyber & Intelligence Systems is at the forefront of the Nation's space modernization priorities, from proliferated low Earth orbit architectures and missile defense to space domain awareness. Her organization is a key contributor to programs that strengthen the resilience and survivability of national space architectures in an increasingly contested environment. At the same time, she is driving a generational crypto modernization effort, delivering next-generation encryption capabilities to secure communications across space, terrestrial and tactical networks against emerging threats.
Johnson brings more than 27 years of defense technology experience spanning space systems, cybersecurity, secure communications and C5ISR integration. Prior to this role, she served as deputy general manager of the Land & Air Systems line of business and vice president of the Defense Electronics business area, where she led the integration of market-leading C5ISR technologies into ground and aviation platforms. Previously, she served as vice president of Platform Security Products, advancing the cyber resilience of mission-critical platforms through certified cross domain, data-at-rest encryption and multilevel security solutions. Johnson also led business development for the Nuclear Command, Control and Communications (NC3) segment of the Strategic Systems business unit.
Johnson holds a Master's degree in Computer Systems Engineering from Northeastern University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Stonehill College. She is currently pursuing an Executive MBA at the MIT Sloan School of Management, expected 2027. She is an active member of Women in Defense (NDIA), the Society of Women Engineers, AFCEA, AFA, and Girls Who Code. Johnson serves on Stonehill College's Engineering Industry Advisory Board.
