Cambridge, MA, USA – Bluefin Robotics, a leader in the design and manufacturing of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), was named a Gold Winner in MassEcons (The Massachusetts Alliance for Economic Development) Seventh Annual Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards. These awards celebrate companies from across the state that have made outstanding contributions to the Massachusetts economy.

Over the last year, Bluefin has renovated a 54,000 square foot building in Quincy's Fore River Shipyard into a state-of-the-art facility for its business. Bluefin will move its Cambridge headquarters and East Boston marine operations outfit to the new South Street address in November.

"It is an honor and privilege to be chosen for the MassEcon award," said David P. Kelly, CEO and President of Bluefin Robotics. "Our new facility provides more flexible and efficient workspace, enabling us to better compete in a continually evolving industry. The Shipyard is the perfect locale for the company to further expand its operations, bringing new high-tech jobs to the South Shore."

"The winners of the Team Massachusetts Economic Impact Awards all have outstanding stories, from adding jobs, to office expansion, to the positive ways in which they impact their communities," said Susan Houston, Executive Director of MassEcon. "We are proud that these companies call the Commonwealth home."

Kelly will attend a luncheon on November 23 to honor the winners. Wyc Grousbeck, Managing Partner and CEO of the Boston Celtics, will be a featured speaker.

Bluefin Robotics was selected along with other companies from every region of the state. The winners were selected based on a variety of factors, including job growth, facility expansion, investment, and community involvement. The winning companies range in size and represent a variety of industries, including medical devices, software, manufacturing, and life sciences.

The complete list of award winners appears at the end of this document.
