Baseband Node Transit Case

Communication Services To The Tactical Battlespace

The Baseband Node (BBN) is a STEP and JTF compatible, dynamic communications package that allows today's warfighter to deploy a self-contained, robust suite of voice, video and data communication services to the tactical battlespace. Compatible with MSE, TRI-TAC and THSDN systems, the BBN provides the tactical user an interface to strategic data networks, commercial, joint, combined and coalition communications systems across multiple security levels. A rapidly deployable, early-entry system, the BBN is housed in a LMS shelter and mounted on an ECV HMMWV for roll on/roll off mobility.

  • STEP and joint interoperable providing DSN and DRSN access
  • Provides Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPR), Secure Internet
  • Protocol Router Network (SIPR) and Coalition Wide Area Network (CWAN) data access with embedded information assurance (IA)
  • Facilitates H.320 and H.323 multi-point/multi-session battlefield video teleconferencing (BVTC)
  • Interoperable with MSE and TRI TAC THSDN systems
  • Provides subscriber and trunk multi-level precedence and preemption service
  • ECV HMMWV mounted for roll-on/roll off mobility
  • Leverages commercial technologies
  • Baseband Node Transit Case Package (BBN TCP)
