The Fortress Wireless Gateway allows connectivity and roaming between multiple wireless networks, including Mesh, Wi-Fi and LTE, and delivers secure, high-performance, COTS wireless communications capabilities based on industry-proven technologies.

Features

The Fortress Wireless Gateway enables rapid establishment of a scalable and mobile high-performance secure wireless network for ad-hoc operations, and also provides connectivity into an existing Wi-Fi or LTE infrastructure network. Fortress Mesh provides a self-forming, self-healing, and path-optimizing wireless network infrastructure for dynamic network environments.

The Fortress Wireless Gateway is enhanced with the highest levels of industry-standard encryption and meets commercial and government security standards. The Fortress Wireless Gateway’s focus on security, network resilience, ease of rapid deployment and rugged design make it ideal for mobile vehicle applications and harsh environments.

General Dynamics Mission Systems’ URC-200 Line-of-Sight radios were recently deployed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to aid in relief efforts in St. Thomas following hurricane Irma. The radios were part of the FAA’s mobile Air Traffic Control (ATC) towers and provided critical ground-to-air radio communications for relief planes at St. Thomas airport.
