The new software-defined URC-300® Transceiver improves ground-to-air communications with an architecture that enables users to upgrade fielded radios as new technology becomes available. The URC-300 retains a familiar user-friendly interface from the URC-200 (V2) as well as many of the legacy accessories.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has chosen General Dynamics to provide URC-300E® transceivers for their Emergency Transceiver Replacement (ETR) program. The radio will provide Very High Frequency (VHF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) operation for air traffic control communications in the event of a catastrophic failure.

General Dynamics Mission Systems To Provide FAA With Emergency Transceiver Replacement Radio Kits

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded General Dynamics Mission Systems a contract valued at $28 million for full production of URC-300E Emergency Transceiver Replacement (ETR) Kits to replace the legacy emergency backup radios.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has chosen General Dynamics Mission Systems to provide new URC-300E transceivers as part of their Emergency Transceiver Replacement (ETR) program. The URC-300E will replace current legacy radios and provide both Very High Frequency (VHF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) operation for civil and military air traffic control (ATC) communications in the event of a catastrophic failure, such as a facility fire or natural disaster.




General Dynamics Introduces New URC-300 Software-Defined Ground-to-Air Radio

General Dynamics will deliver URC-300 transceiver backpack systems in February to the U.S. Air Force’s Radar, Airfield and Weather Systems team at Kadena Air Base in Japan to improve ground-to-air communications at their alternate air traffic control tower and contingency field operations. The URC-300 is specifically designed to enable future features and functions to be added in the field via quick and simple software upgrades.




New URC-300 Radio Now 25kHz and 8.33kHz ETSI Compliant for Global Operation

General Dynamics is pleased to announce that its new URC-300™ radio has completed European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) European Standard (EN) 300 676 testing and is now in full compliance with all 25kHz and 8.33kHz VHF specifications. In addition, the URC-300 recently completed the ETSI EN 302 617 UHF testing and is also compliant with 25kHz UHF specifications.
