Fortress Wireless Mesh Point Administrator Training

Fortress Wireless Mesh Point Administrator training is a three day course held at our Annapolis Junction, MD facility.The course encompasses a wide range of topics designed for Fortress customers and business partners. The three day course is designed to specifically meet the needs of the network operators, administrators, and engineers who plan to create secure wireless networks using Fortress wireless mesh points.

Product Details

The session includes a comprehensive hands-on lab to practice the methods taught in the lecture. Students who pass a short written and practical exam will receive a certificate.
The course includes:

  • Various Fortress hardware / software platforms
  • Static and mobile wireless configurations
  • Basic RF theory and environmental operational fundamentals
  • Installation/mounting requirements for indoor/outdoor use
  • Secure client/node communications via WPA, WPA2, PSK, WPA/PSK and Fortress
  • 802.11 a/b/g/n fundamentals, site requirements
  • Point-to-point / multi-point configuration
  • Bridging, mesh and VLAN configuration
  • Node and mesh point management
  • Suite B security

Upon completion of this course, students will have acquired a basic knowledge of RF theory and wireless technology. In addition students will be able to operate, maintain and perform administrative functions associated with FastPath Mesh Point platforms, including ES2440, ES520, and ES820.

Who Should Attend

Participants should have a general understanding of network technologies and topologies, the OSI Reference Model and TCP/IP, the function of network devices, and security concepts. Students should also have intermediate knowledge of wireless LANs and RF fundamentals.

Tuition

The tuition for the course is $2,400. This includes three full days of classroom and hands-on training and course material. The maximum class size depends on class location. Classes are filled as applications are approved.

Refund Policy

If the class you selected is filled when we receive your application, we will notify you to schedule an alternate class. If your class is canceled after your registration is accepted, we will notify you promptly. Your registration fee will be refunded or you may attend an alternate class. We understand that circumstances may arise that require you to cancel. In order to receive a tuition refund, cancellation must be made 10 business days prior to the class start date. If you miss the cancellation deadline due to unusual or exceptional circumstances, please contact the training coordinator immediately to make alternate arrangements.

Dress Code

Business casual dress is required. Military personnel may dress in uniform. Shorts, sweat suits, baseball hats or t-shirts are not permitted.
