The General Dynamics VZ-1010 HDR is an extreme long-range electro-optical/ infrared (EO/IR) multi-sensor system capable of detecting man-sized targets at over 25 kilometers. This system is ideal for surveillance and reconnaissance in ground-based defense and homeland security missions requiring maximum detection distance. The system has demonstrated industry leading range performance and also unparalleled reliability in critical 24/7 missions for border and maritime security.

The GD VZ-1000 family has proven its value, utility and reliability, serving worldwide for over a decade. This configuration builds on its trusted ancestry with a more capable EO sensor and lens that offers an upgrade path to EO HD with an IP interface. In standard definition (SD), the sensor offers upgraded EO performance and features over previous SD on existing infrastructure with the option of extending to HD EO. The EO camera offers demonstrated capability to read license plates at 1.6Km.
Featuring a proprietary, ruggedized design and cooled sensor technology, the VZ-1010 captures precise target signatures in Mid-Wave IR, day or night and in color during daylight and transition. The VZ-1010 includes an integrated precision 2 axis positioning system with high reliability direct drive architecture. The integrated laser range finder provides target distance data out to 20 Km or 30 Km with an available upgrade.
