Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
8+ years professional experience in systems engineering and product development
- 3+ years professional experience in systems testing
- Agile Engineering is a plus
- Demonstrated experience with DOD systems integration, test, fielding and support
- Hands-on experience with Army ground vehicle PNT systems is a strong plus
System verification, qualification, and acceptance testing techniques
Detailed understanding quality standards and processes for industry and government
Able to identify and resolve technical issues in the cross functional environment
Able to meet program timelines, while also ensuring compliance with quality processes
Use of simulation software is a strong plus
Cross functional collaboration and Product Development
Customer focus with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Deep-dive analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to think creatively
Ability to quickly synthesize and clearly report relevant information
Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues, impacts, and corrective actions
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and testing tools
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Responsibilities for this Position
GPS Source, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), is a world class innovator and manufacturer of high quality, high performance position, navigation and timing (PNT) technologies for demanding defense and commercial markets. Our tight knit product development team needs a Technical Systems Architect for Embedded Products, who is an expert in PNT technology to help design, deliver and support first-to-market PNT solutions. This position will be supporting our southeast Colorado Springs, Colorado location.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Perform software and hardware testing of PNT products and systems produced by the company for both military and commercial customers
System validation including test execution, data analysis and discrepancy reporting for operational based testing of hardware and software products to ensure readiness for government testing and fielding.
Report progress using data and metrics
Actively find ways to innovate
Analyze requirements, design and interfaces to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture, ensuring regulatory and system certification requirements are met
