Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must have a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable amount of time after date of hire. An active Secret clearance is highly desired. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

  • Experience with GPS and/or position, navigation and timing (PNT) applications
  • Experience with requirements definition and analysis
  • Experience in Product Owner or Systems Engineering role for embedded product development
  • Experience in Product Development or Product Management
  • Experience working in an Agile Engineering work environment
  • Experience with full product development lifecycle (hardware and software)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with our internal teams and customers
  • Ability to set team priorities, adhere to deadlines to meet goals, and adapt to schedule changes
  • Critical ability to prioritize own workload to maximize team support
  • Strong, general reasoning and analytical skills
  • High level of personal, work and professional ethics

Responsibilities for this Position

GPS Source, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), is a world class innovator and manufacturer of high quality, high performance PNT technologies for demanding defense and commercial markets. Our tight knit product development team needs a Product Owner who, as an expert in PNT technology will help design, deliver and support first-to-market PNT solutions. This position will be supporting our southeast Colorado Springs, Colorado location. 

We are looking for a Technical Product Owner to join our Product Management Team in Colorado Springs.

What You'll Do

  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes which includes writing new user stories, determining acceptance criteria for each user story
  • Articulate requirements and business value to engineering teams and deliver with speedy time-to-market and optimal resources
  • Align product management with overall company strategy
  • Develop release planning criteria
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum activities
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
  • Determine return on investment (ROI) for new proposed features
  • Communicate to stakeholders to obtain feedback
  • Work with Marketing and Business Development for go-to-market activities
