Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 8+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 6 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.


Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior RF and Satellite Communications Systems HW/SW Test Engineer.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge SATCOM and RF technology that supports the Army’s Warfighter Information Network (WIN-T).  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.


  • Performs/leads systems integration and test (verification) for RF and SATCOM systems
  • Performs large network testing of satellite modems and their associated software using a simulated satellite network.
  • Performs large network testing of satellite terminals and their associated software over a Ka or Ku band Geostationary Orbit (GEO), Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) or low earth orbit (LEO) satellite network.
    Performs troubleshooting and testing for Transmission Subsystem (TSS) components and systems located in outdoor/indoor environments at General Dynamics and customer facilities.
    Performs antenna/RF development for new systems, with input to system design improvements
  • Performs trade analysis and interface definition studies of RF subsystem or system elements
  • Evaluates systems, networks and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specification
  • Keeps abreast of technology trends
  • Communicating status to engineering leads


  • Fully proficient use and understanding of SATCOM and RF technology and test methods
  • Fully proficient knowledge of other related disciplines
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Fully proficient written and verbal communications skills
  • Fully proficient ability in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
  • Proficiency with Agile processes is preferred
  • Strong use and understanding of test engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Strong knowledge of other related disciplines
  • Strong ability to clearly report information relevant to sound test engineering
