“My favorite benefit of working at General Dynamics is the 9/80 schedule! Every other Friday off is wonderful!”

How have you grown your career while here?
Although I’ve only been here a short while, I have been able to experience multiple positions through the Engineering Leadership Program which is a three year rotational program created to foster the development of engineering leaders. Early on in my career, I have already been able to network with a wide array of people and really get to experience what I like and dislike about different positions through this program.

Describe your team…What is integral to building a strong team?
One of the most integral aspects of building a strong team is strong communication skills. This is especially true for my current position as a program engineer on Littoral Combat Ship (LCS). I work regularly with people here in Pittsfield, Massachusetts as well as San Diego, California or people traveling for the LCS team. I am also a member of the program engineering team who are all spread across different programs with a common manager. It takes strong communication skills to effectively work together across teams/disciplines, distances and time zones.
