Rudy Berk

Director of User Experience (UX)
"Our mission is to deliver safe and user-friendly experiences across all hardware and software deliverables, from the simplest devices to the most complex systems."

Rudy describes his mission at General Dynamics as “keeping the company creatively charged.” His team is embedded across the organization’s projects to promote the delivery of safe and usable products, systems, and processes.

He insists that the role of UX at General Dynamics is to ensure “exceptional user experience across all hardware and software development, from the simplest devices to the most complex systems.” Rudy began his career in New York City, where he developed promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives for Allure magazine and The New Yorker. In this environment, he was able to experiment with emerging new media technologies to gauge their likely impact on the practice of marketing and promotions.

At élan communications in Pittsburgh, Rudy brought substance and style to the world of face-to-face marketing. He developed comprehensive experiences that delivered his clients’ brand message to trade-show attendees in the context of media-rich, immersive theater. Focusing on big-picture concepts and narratives, Rudy’s designs entertained while covertly delivering substantive product information.

Rudy earned his B.F.A. from Carnegie Mellon in 1990 in graphic design, with a concentration in drawing.
