General Dynamics C4 Systems has received the 2013 Nunn-Perry Award from the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), Office of Small Business programs in recognition of its commitment and performance as a mentor to nFocus Solutions, a woman-owned small business headquartered in Phoenix. The Nunn-Perry award recognizes superior performance in the areas of quality, technical assistance, return on investment and protg development.

General Dynamics C4 Systems and nFocus Solutions began the mentor-protg partnership in 2006 continuing through 2012. Highlighting a success of the General Dynamics/nFocus mentor-protg program, nFocus Solutions is now a major subcontractor on U.S. Armys Digital Training Management System, which provides the detailed training status of more than two million soldiers and civilians worldwide. nFocus Solutions, founded in 1994 specializes in performance management and outcome measurement solutions.

"Mentoring small businesses like nFocus ensures the DoD has access to a strong group of small business suppliers that may not have had the resources or expertise to effectively compete for government contracts," said Chris Marzilli, president of General Dynamics C4 Systems. "During our mentor-protg partnership we gained valuable insights from each other and developed new products and capabilities that will help the military be more efficient, effective and safe."

General Dynamics C4 Systems was notified of the Nunn-Perry mentor award in a letter from Paul Simpkins, associate director, Office of Small Business Programs. The award is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense, Office of Small Business Programs, a directorate within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics.
