FAIRFAX, Va. – General Dynamics (NYSE: GD) was awarded a task order by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to support the National Cybersecurity Protection System (NCPS). This Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge (EAGLE) contract has a 12-month period of performance.

“With this award, General Dynamics will continue to help the Department of Homeland Security ensure a safe, secure and resilient cyber environment for federal civilian networks,” said John Jolly, vice president and general manager of General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems’ Cyber Systems division. “Our proven expertise and ability to provide timely, relevant support allows us to effectively monitor and address operational risks to continue to advance the NCPS.”

Independent from other cybersecurity systems in the federal government, the NCPS is an integrated system of intrusion detection, analytics, intrusion prevention and information sharing technologies that monitor and defend the Federal Executive Branch civilian government networks. The NCPS serves as the technological foundation for United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) activities, and is managed by the Network Security Deployment (NSD) division that is responsible for the development, acquisition, deployment and support required to implement the NCPS. Under this contract, General Dynamics will utilize a proven systems engineering methodology to develop and deploy cybersecurity capabilities to help drive the evolution of the NCPS to meet the current and future mission needs.

“This award is a testament to our demonstrated ability to respond to emerging mission requirements through effective leadership and technical innovation,” said Cynthia Shelton, vice president of the Enterprise Mission Solutions line of business for General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems’ Cyber Systems division. “With seven years of experience working closely with the NSD and US-CERT, we will continue to support NSD’s mission by rapidly providing its stakeholders with advanced tools to address the continually growing cyber threat.”

This contract was awarded to General Dynamics One Source, which comprises General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, General Dynamics Information Technology and General Dynamics C4 Systems.
