Axsy's schedules special stockholder meeting for September 1, 2009.

Today, Axsys Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:AXYS), a global leader in the design and development of high-performance surveillance cameras, imaging systems and related motion control technologies, announced that on August 7, 2009, it was granted early termination of the mandatory waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976 in conjunction with its proposed acquisition by General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems.

Completion of the transaction remains subject to Axsys' stockholder approval and certain other customary closing conditions. Axsys has scheduled a special stockholder meeting for September 1, 2009, during which Axsys’ stockholders will vote on the proposed transaction.
